125TH ANNIVERSARY
First Lutheran Church has been sharing God's Word for more than 125 years. We give praise and thanks to God each day for this blessing and opportunity.
 
Today we will be placing items back into the time capsule from the cornerstone. If you have not yetsigned the cornerstone box that was opened for ouranniversary, stop in the entryway and sign it with thepermanent marker. We will treat the box to protect the signatures before we reseal it in the cornerstone.We thank Sparky Lundberg for designing andinstalling the temporary cornerstone.

FAMILY BIBLE HOUR
We invite everyone to join us today for another Family Bible Hour from 9: 15-10:15 a.m. in the gym. There will be cereal, and donuts as well as a study on January 10& II, 2010
OFFICE NEWS
Our secretary, Helen Hacht, will be having surgery on January 19 and will be recovering at home after that. Our hope is that she will be able to return to work on a part-time basis in February. Alane Kaesmeyer, with help from others, will be in the office each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to assist you. We ask for your patience and understanding as we keep things running during Helen's absence. We also ask for your prayers for successful surgery and recovery for her.

RECORDING SECRETARY
Linda West has retired as Sunday School recording secretary after many years of faithful service in thisposition. We thank Linda for her dedication and time to our church and Sunday School. We also welcome Cassandra Helfvogt as the new recording secretary.

OFFERING ENVELOPES
You can pick up your year 20 I 0 offering envelopes and calendars in the front entryway. Year-end offering statements will be available next week. Six-month fiscal statements will be in the next Parish Visitor.

SHORELAND PACER BRUNCH
Parents of7th & 8th graders are invited to attend the Pacer Informational Brunch at Shore land Lutheran High School. Discover the difference a Christian based education can have on a child's life! In addition to a great meal, you will have the opportunity to meet the faculty, tour the school, and have your questions answered. The brunch will be held Sunday, January 31 at 11:30 AM. OUR LIFE OF STEWARDSHIP
Out of love for the Lord Jesus, 252 came last Sunday to worship our Lord. 133 came on New Year's Eve to
give praise to our gracious God for the blessings of another year and 110 were strengthened in their faith
through reception of the Lord's Supper. Cheerfully given for the Lord's work at home and abroad: $ 12,488.75 in offerings, $ 360.00 in school tuition, and $ 300.00 in preschool tuition.
